The Venom of the Tongue is suspended indefinitely due to the pandemic. The event was set to hold on the 24 April 2020 at Emerald Event centre. This development has brought anguish to the Akwa Ibom State Poetry community.
The organisers request that everyone should stay safe and remain calm as a new date would be communicated once the epidemic is over.
The management and planning committee of THE VENOM OF THE TONGUE is very much saddened by the pandemic that is currently ravaging the Nigerian State and the world at large.
We are indeed sensitive to the health, life and general well being of our partners, sponsors, followers and teeming supporters. Thus, we throw our weight, support and prayers to all infected persons all over the world with the hope that this cup shall pass over us in no distant time.
Knowing that health is wealth, we have unanimously decided that if the fight against Covid_19 isn’t won in anytime soon, the Venom of The Tongue will be postponed, as large gatherings are not advisable in this time.
The team will keep you abreast with new developments with time.
In the meantime, we enjoin everyone to:
- Wash their hands regularly
- Make use of alcoholic based hand sanitizers
- Use face mask as they go out
- Wear protective gear on their hands
- Practise social distancing
- Avoid large gatherings.
- Drink lots of water to stay hydrated
- Take Vitamin C and fruits to boost their immune system.
- Stay indoors and report any suspected case to the NCDC.
In self-isolation we stay alive; in large gatherings, we die!
We promise to give you the very best of The Venom Of The Tongue show despite the obstacles in the way. My heart goes out to every one of you for understanding. I love you all. ♥️
